CHECHEN WOOD

Chechen, or Metopium brownei, is a species of plant in the Anacardiaceae family. It most commonly grows in the wetlands of Jamaica, Yucatan, Ion Aruba and in western India, although it can also be found in the Dominican Republic and Belize. Chechen has a particular cream hue ranging from reddish through orange to yellowish and shot through with vein-like stripes. It is often used for decorative furniture veneers; high-end furniture; interior design decoration and for turned and art objects.
